0-60 in One Day, Son.

So a day after posting Ludacris’ “Robot Voice Thingy” and hailing up FunkDoc on his past hillarious skits I came across this.

The Robot Thingy

July 30th, 2008 | Category: Music

The robot voice thingy has taken over commercial hip hop over the last couple years. This is a skit from Ludacris and DJ Drama’s The Preview entitled “The Vocalizer”. I miss albums with good skits(Word to FunkDoc).

It’s been a crazy week. Since getting the new camera my plans have been to start picture blogging daily but I need to get more time for both pictures and blogging. This has been over the last little while, trying to learn this whole photography thing.

Fresh.

Prison Tools

July 23rd, 2008 | Category: Miscellaneous

MacGyver’s rule as the king of improvised devices is now over. Check out Marc Steinmetz’s journey through inmate arts and crafts HERE.

This SHOTGUN was made from iron bedposts; chargeĀ  made of pieces of lead from curtain tape and match-heads, to be ignited by AA batteries and a broken light bulb.
On May 21, 1984 two inmates of a prison in Celle, Germany, took a jailer as a hostage, showed off their fire power by letting go at a pane of bullet-proof glass, and escaped by car.

Other honorable mentions: the tattoo gun, radio, crucifix knife, and hand gun.

Nas on the Colbert Report Tonight

July 23rd, 2008 | Category: Miscellaneous

With the release of the new album and Nas’ history on politically charged television this should be an interesting watch. The album title, past history with Fox’s #1 political hypocrite; Bill O’Reilly, and ” Sly Fox” with Colbert’s no holds barred hosting; I can’t wait.

Comedy Central 11:30 tonight.

Big Homie in FormatMag

July 19th, 2008 | Category: Miscellaneous

In January I was given the opportunity to become a member of the Remix Project here in Toronto. A chance to work with and share knowledge amongst Toronto’s best in the “urban” industry. BE is the director of Creative Arts at Remix, founder and creative lead behind the Legends League and Ideall Clothing, a mentor, and an inspiration to Redef as a brand and myself as a human being. BE exerts passion, creativity, knowledge, and determination that is evident in all of his endeavours. BEyond BEing just utterly ill creatively, BE is a role model. If you mentioned the term “role-model” to him I’m sure he would humbly argue this fact, dropping some type of higher knowledge. However, ask anyone who knows him or knows of him and I’m sure they will tell you how he has inspired their life for the better in some way, shape, or form. Whether he likes it or not BE is a role model; someone to aspire to and draw inspiration from.

Check out more about BE in the new issue of Format.

Brand Awareness

July 13th, 2008 | Category: Miscellaneous

The 2008 Beijing Olympics will be the biggest sporting event of the year, and one of the largest advertising outlets. Branding within the Olympics has always been extremely cut throat and this year is no exception. Team USA will again be sponsored by Nike. This team photo shows the full roster of 12 players. Here’s a couple things to highlight from this picture:

  • 11 out of 12 players are Nike(Including subsidiary Jordan Brand and Converse) endorsed. Even Coach Mike Kryzyzeski is the Head Coach of Duke; a Nike sponsored and strongly supported D1 NCAA team.
  • All of the 11 Nike sponsored athletes have their Nike shoes visually evident.
  • Dwight Howard(Adidas) the only non-Nike athlete’s shoes are blocked.
  • Dwight Howard is also the only player with the Nike Swoosh on his shorts blocked.

Nike conspiracy? Or just a random coincidence because the athletes are arranged from tallest to shortest?
